random picture challenge

Ok, here's this week's random picture challenge brought to you by
4 little men and girly twins.
September 2007
11th picture

This is my sweet Jack who had turned three that summer. Jack was playing with these fabulous lacing beads. Jack received them as a 2006 Christmas gift from Aunt Marsha and we still love them now. They are great for building fine motor skills, teaching those little fingers how to manipulate them onto the string, and we also love to stack and sort them. They are just one of those great toys that we pull out over and over. In this particular picture, Jack was trying to look through the little hole...as you can see, he hadn't quite gotten the idea yet!

lots of fun giveaways!

My new bloggy friend over at TigerMommie is hosting a great giveaway. She's giving away two pieces of Gymboree clothing. They can be either the same size or different sizes and either gender or one for both. Gymboree clothing is super cute so I really hope I win! Check out her blog for the entry rules.

Also, my real-life friend and fabulous blog designer, Krystyn, is having a giveaway too. She's giving away either a blog design or the design of a greeting card. Click either here or here for giveaway details. She's got a real creative eye so make sure you check her out!

PSF - a case of the sillies

Yep, we've got it bad over here...
We've got a case of the sillies over here. A recurring case, actually. Silliness abounds in our household. Jack loves to do anything silly. I guess that just comes with the 4-year-old boy territory. His laugh when he's being silly is just great. It's so joyful sounding and so fresh.
Melody loves to be silly too...mainly because her brother loves it. If he's being silly she's determined to be silly too! And if you notice, she copies every silly expression he makes along with a jubilant, "Look-a-me, Mama!"
And with the way Charlie intently watches, it probably won't be long before he's caught the sillies too!

5 months?!? seems like 5 minutes!

My sweet littlest boy is 5 months today!! It's hard to imagine that we've gone from this
to this

He can already do so much. In fact, he set a new personal record today, sitting completely unassisted for over 6 minutes!

He's a chunky little thing at over 18lbs!

He loves his brother and sister

and they love him to pieces

and have right from the start!

ww - one of my favorite pictures

I love this picture. Jack had just turned two. He loved to put on my flip-flops (which he would call bip-bops) and walk around! He is such a cutie!

Check out 5 Minutes for Mom for more Wordless Wednesdays!

sing-a-long

Melody has been singing all kinds of songs lately, which is really cute. Her two favorites are "the Barney song" and "the Hot Dog song". I love when she sings the Barney song; instead of saying "I love you, you love me" she just says, "I love me". Very fitting for her little narcissistic self! The Hot Dog song has a fabulous dance that accompanies it. She loves to get her groove on to that one! Make sure you check out Charlie in the background. He's in the exersaucer just mesmerized by her!

not me monday

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

I did not commit prescription drug fraud on Friday. No, not me. And while I was not on the phone with the pharmacy, I was not giving my 4-year-old a lecture in honesty. No, not me. I am the poster child for honesty and integrity. So are my children. Me: "Jack, did you hit your sister?" Jack: "No, Mommy, she just ran her head into my open palm." See? Honesty all around.

I did not find a fun gift card for Ann Taylor Loft in my purse and throw myself a mini-shopping spree on Saturday including buying a great pair of white jeans. A must have for spring, according to my personal shopping friend, Lauren.

As I was trying on the jeans, I was not silently praying that my booty wouldn't look ridiculously huge in them. No, not me. I do not have a big posterior...thanks for passing down great genes, Mom. Seriously, umm...J. Lo, my booty could eat your booty. Not that that fact stops me from inhaling cookies every night.

I did not DVR the Oscars last night so I could watch Eward (aka Rob Pattinson) present an award over and over and over again. We've already determind I'm not obsessed with Twilight and all things Edward.

Check out MckMama's blog to see what everyone else has not been doing!

a broken dress

When we got home from church and were eating lunch, I noticed that Melody had a big tear in her dress. I was so sad because this is a really cute dress that we wear all the time! Melody was pretty sad too. When I showed it to her, she threw her hands up and said, "Mah dwress bwoke!"

See how upset she is? (Ok, she's actually not upset because of the dress...Jack was getting a little to close to her pumpkin bread (which is like gold to her) and a meltdown ensued).

But see how cute the dress is? And we have on little red leggings to match. A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E.
And there's our rip. Boo-hoo.

giveaway!

Ok, I just had to link to Rachel's blog...I just checked her out and she's having a fun giveaway in honor of her (almost) 100th post. I linked to her blog from my friend Krystyn's blog. She seems to be a woman of many talents, so go check her out!

tagged!

My friend Lauren tagged me in a fun game. Since I also am borderline obsessed with love purses, I decided to play along.

Ok, here are the rules;

1. Post a picture of whatever bag you are (using) today - not last weekend when you and your hubby went out to that fabulous restaurant. No cheating!!!

2. Tell us how much it cost. This is a no-judgment zone -- there will be no ridiculing or eye rolling here. (Whatever! Judge all you want! Purses are necessities like food and water!) And, if there is a story to go along with how you obtained it, I'd love to hear it.

3. Now tag some fellow bloggers and link back to this post so people know why you are posting pictures of your bag.

Ahhh...the purse. I love this purse. I love the boutique where I got it from even more. It's an Amy Katherine bag. I can't remember exactly how much it cost, but I think somewhere around $80. There's lots of other purses there I like. You know my birthday is coming up (hint hint). It's a big one too...I mean, you only turn 24 once, right?

Ok, so in the purse we have;

wallet

change purse

a Melody diaper

wipes

two receipts

booklet with Arbonne's new Spring products

a sheet of paper where I took notes from Wednesday's Children Council's meeting

Clinique's Smooth Body Butter lotion

an old grocery receipt

three ChickfilA kid's meal toys I'm saving for my children to trade in for ice cream

pen

rattle

hand sanitizer

Tylenol

this lipstick which I love

and a Pampers coupon

there's usually a cell phone, a Charlie diaper, and a camera in there too. And more often than not a sippy cup.

Oh, wait, and keys. Hmmm...I wonder where those went? Hopefully not locked in the car again!

I'm tagging my bloggy friend Pam and my IRL friend Krystyn to play too!

PSF - jack's chompers

My oldest son, Jack, has a space between his two front teeth. It's definitely hereditary as my husband and father have one as well. I love this space...Jack wouldn't look like himself without it. The dentist loves this space too...he says that it means there's room for his permanent teeth. If that's the case, then I love this space even more because hopefully he won't need braces!

Jack has commented on this space before. Once he said, "Mom! Look! I lost a tooth!" When I asked where, he pointed to his space!

The other day he said, "Melody, I have a space between my teeth right here *pointing* just in case another tooth decides to grow in."
Check out how much character and personality this smile has!

a coat with hair

This is Melody's new coat...

When I put it on her, Jack said, "Oh, my friend Maya has a coat with hair too."

We'll take any kind of hair we can get!

oh the things they'll say

My kids have been saying some pretty funny things lately. Melody will say, "wha' happened?" whenever some change or unexpected event occurs. For example, the other day I turned off the TV and she looked at me and said, "Wha' happened?!" It's absolutely hilarious and she sounds just like this guy from A Mighty Wind. Alex and I think of that movie now every time she says, "Wha' happened?"

Instead of asking, "What is that?" she will say, "You know what that is?" She says this when she wants to know what something is or when she wants to tell you what something is. Her little voice is so cute asking it!

Jack can be pretty funny himself. The other day, on the way to a friend's house, I was punching in the gate code to their gated community and Jack asked, "Mom, why do we have to pay to get into this neighborhood?" Hilarious!

Charlie is trying to keep up by keeping up a constant stream of babbling all the time...I can only imagine the funny things he'll say one day!

my valentine

Alex is not the most intuitive when it comes to gift giving. Usually when he asks what I want, I say, "It's on hold at such-and-such store." However, he is very creative. This is the homemade rose I found waiting for me on Valentine's Day morning.

True romance...

random picture challenge

Here's this week's random picture challenge brought to us by

January 2007 folder, 3rd picture

This is Jack...he was 2 1/2 and it was right before Melody was born. He had been playing with his sticker book and decided to decorate himself!

feeling the love

My new bloggy friend, Pam, at Twenty Little Piggies tagged me! This is my 1st time being tagged and I'm excited to play along!

This seems like a pretty straightforward game with the rules being only~

Choose a number significant to you and list that many things that you love. Then tag 3 people.

So, the number I chose is 4 mainly because it's always been my favorite number.

I love my family to pieces. My husband is fabulous and my kids are as cute and as sweet as can be...what more can I ask for?

I love my Auburn Tigers. Even when they don't win at football.

I love shopping. Everyone who knows me knows this is true!

I love the whole experience of going to see a movie. And even if the movie isn't that great, as long as I had a coke and popcorn I'm happy!

Alright, so the three people I've tagged are my two IRL friends Lauren and Stephanie and my bloggy friend TigerMommie

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day!! It is only 9:45 and we've already had a full day of Valentine's Day fun! It started at 6:15 a.m. when I woke up and realized that Charlie was still asleep...and had been since 7:00 pm last night. Yep, that's right...Charlie slept through the night!! Heaven. Heaven.

I had treats on the table for the kids and made pancakes for breakfast. Yummy!

Then, the kids wanted me to take pictures of them. Ok, ok, I used an M&M bribe..I know what works! Check out the sibling love!

I just love these kids. And this guy too...he's a fabulous husband, a hard worker, a terrific father and I'm so happy to be married to him.

Hope your day is full of love too!!
