PSF and the race

My husband signed us up for the Warrior Dash last weekend.

If you don't already know what it is, it's an approximately 3 mile race will all kinds of obstacles.

It was fun.

And muddy.

And at the end, we got medals and warrior hats.

I did not voluntarily wear mine.

I finished in 27:19, which was #87 out of 405 women in my age group
and #400 overall out of 2100 women.
Alex was so nice and stayed with me, even though I knew he could have done better than I did.
He's already ready to sign us up for next year.

Are you a warrior?

Goodbye LOST!

***Disclaimer: No big spoilers here, but read at your own risk.***

I haven't had time to fully process it all and I want to watch a few scenes again (including the 3 alternate endings) but here's just a concise post about my initial thoughts.

After 6 years, Lost was the one show I hated to see end but couldn't wait for the finale at the same time.

Ultimately, I'm satisfied with the way things ended up. No, all of my questions about the Island weren't answered, but the show wasn't really about the Island as much as the people on it.

And despite the Titanic-esque ending, it was fulfilling to see the finality of their lives and not left with that sense of "life goes on" which is insanely irritating. Remember the Friends finale? The writers wanted it to be a "life goes on" feeling but they are really saying "life goes on without you!"

Ultimately, I'm going to have to take Christian Sheppard's advice and realize that it's time to "move on".

That all being said, I still love Lost! I love to discuss, debate, ask and answer questions. So, if you have a thought, observation, or question make sure to leave a comment!

PSF and first and last

This was Melody on her first day of preschool

Adorable, no?

And there she goes walking into school, such a big girl.

As of today, she's officially got a year of preschool under her belt.

She's an old pro and won't be the baby of the school next fall.

I got a little teary as I watched her walk into school for her last day.

Where does the time go?

Don't even remind me that I'll have a first-grader in a week.

*sob*

Take me out to the ball game

Saturday we traveled to Auburn for their baseball game against Tennessee.

Yes, we now take up a whole row. And yes, no one other than me was looking at the camera.

Notice how Alex was holding down Charlie's seat so it wouldn't flip back up on him. He didn't really like it when that happened.

We almost melted in the heat, but had a blast.

While our 18-0 win might have been the highlight for some people, meeting Aubie was the highlight for Jack and Melody.

Charlie was on the fence about Aubie. Right up until this picture was taken...and then he decided he wanted nothing to do with Aubie.

PSF and words

At almost 20 months, Charlie know a lot of words.

Among his favorites are:

doggy
banana
snack
car
mommy
bye-bye
Hello (but it sounds like Woah)

Can you guess what his very favorite word is?

Why is it always that one?

the drool factor

*I actually wrote this post a few months ago and then never published it. In fact, I found a few finished but unpublished posts so I'll be posting some old-but-never-seen-before posts until something post-worthy happens in my life for a few days!*

My son Jack was a major drooler. He pretty much had a majorly soaking wet shirt until he was about 3.

(Jack was about 20 months here and look at his wet shirt!)

I was relieved when Melody turned out to be the opposite. Even when she was teething not a drop of drool would leave her mouth.

I'm wondering now if it's a girl thing because Charlie seems determined to win the drooling contest.

Look at all the drool. And the crazy thing is that he's on
ly been wearing this outfit for 5 minutes! Seriously. I had just gotten in out of the dryer where I thew it in because it was so soaked with drool!Still not convinced?

Look at that.

Seriously, kid.

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day!

I hope everyone enjoyed a fun weekend celebrating the one and only - Mommy!

Mother's Day is the perfect excuse for me to be in pictures for a change.

On Saturday, we went down to Barnesville to celebrate my grandma's 80th birthday. It was wonderful getting to visit with Grandma along with the rest of my extended family.

(My mom, Grandma, Me and Melody - sorry, I know it's not the greatest photo.)

Sunday was Mother's Day and after church

we did a little gardening!

Alex and the kids had gotten me some herbs and tomato plants, so we spent the afternoon planting them. We're hoping to enjoy some fresh grown tomatoes soon!

Hope all my mommy friends felt celebrated this Mother's Day!

PSF and a lesson learned

I learned a lesson the hard way the other day.

If you're out in a clover field

having pictures made of your two adorable younger children

and cannot stop commenting how adorable the three year old looks in her tutu

(Photos courtesy of Pam "P3" Powell)
it is still very important to keep an eye on the 19 month old

because if he eats the clover flower

he'll probably throw it up later that evening.

And you'll probably be in the car, a 1/2 hour from home, when it happens.

A princess always needs her crown

We went out of town just for a night

shortly after we left, Melody looked at me and said,

"Oh, shoot. I forgot my crown."

I know you're wondering...but we didn't go back!
