Today was opening day for T-ball. We started the day off bright and early (seriously, 7 a.m. on a Saturday, people!) with a parade. Each team decorated a truck and then drove through Smyrna to the ball fields waving to the masses lining the streets.

All the trucks decorated and ready to go
Kirsten, Ellie, Melody, Charlie, and I cheered as they drove by
After the parade was the opening ceremony which included a field dedication and the singing of the Star Spangled Banner. It was quite a celebration for Little League baseball!

Then we had our first game! The Red Sox played outfield first. Jack did a fabulous job of
Getting ready in the dugout
Getting a few pointers from Coach Todd
He did a fabulous job batting and got hits both times he was up. He also scored two runs!
Great job, Jack!!
It's a hit!
He makes it safe to first base!
And then heads home!
We enjoyed watching the game. Melody made a new friend with another little sister there supporting her brother. And Charlie tried to sleep and cried when the cheering got too noisy. Hopefully he'll be a better sport next week!

Check out the cute pigtails!

It's shaping up to be a great season for the Red Sox!

All right.........great team, Red Sox!!!.........Great pics.....
THat made me smile, I needed that today!
Cute pics!! We have only had a few practices...I don't think we have opening ceremony until the very end of March. It looks like the Red Sox are going to have a fun time playing tball!!
That's so cute. But seriously, 7am? As in...in the morning?! That really stinks.
Thank goodness I have girls. Girls don't do anything that early in the morning. At least nothing in the way of an organized sport where you have to show up. Whew!
Great pictures too, btw!
Give Jack a high five from grammy and granddaddy!
Looks like fun!
Oh, that looks like so much fun. That parade looks like a hoot!
That parade was a killer especially without having caffeine first. Little girly might have been happier if I had fed her breakfast first too.
It looks like Jack did well. My guys played at 1:30 and it was incredibly hot (or maybe that was because I was chasing a toddler?)
So cute. This has such a charming small town feel to it. I love places like this.
Um... Jack was 4 for 4. Just wanted to clear that up. ;-)
