Happy Birthday, America

We went to a neighborhood 4th of July party this evening and had a great time celebrating America's birthday.
Really, what's more American than hot dogs

and apple pie?!
Let's not forget the fireworks. Jack and I stayed late to watch a great fireworks show. And before the show started (while we were waiting for it to get dark) the kids played with sparklers and other fun, easy fireworks. This was Jack's first experience with fireworks and he was absolutely crazy about it!

Despite the fact that we stayed out until almost 10 pm didn't seem to bother him. I was practically falling asleep, but Jack was his usual silly self!

Hope you all had a happy Independence Day!

Sean and I were just talking about how we can't wait until Maggie is old enough to stay up "late" for the fireworks! Sounds like you had a great day!

Looks like a great 4th......and very nice family shot!
We mostly celebrated my dad's birthday......rather than the usual festivities.....
And we can see the fireworks (and hear them too) from our house.......which means we don't have to brave the mosquitos! And TigerBoy was long since zonked out by them time they started!

Love the family shot...so festive! I failed at wearing red, white, and blue this year. Oh, well! There's always next year, right? What a special treat for Jack to stay up with his mommy...I bet he'll be talking about that for a long time to come! Glad you had such a great day with friends! I think next year I'm going to start a tradition of a neighborhood BBQ on the 4th. We need a little more fun on the block! ;)
