PSF and bunks

We are now one of those families.

You know.  Families with bunk beds.

Yes, this is a really bad picture.  But it does capture the excitement.  They were bouncing up and down as I took it.

In the 4 days we've had the bunks I've learned some important lessons:
  •  The top bunk is really hard to make.
  • The top bunk is where the child will want to sleep.
  • Don't spend a lot of money.  The beds will be damaged or graffitied in the first 24 hours.
  • Jumping off the top bunk or the ladder is lots of fun.
  • No amounts of threats and/or punishments will deter said jumping.
  •
    And finally
  • If you can't beat 'em, join 'em!

FUN! Henry and Grant's beds are bed bunks but they aren't stacked right now. I think we are going to do that soon though...and maybe let Eli join the party in his toddler bed! I guess it's a good thing boys don't need a lot of space:) I'm keeping my guest room {aka hopefully a future girl's room} as long as I can!

Ah, yes. The joys of bunkbeds. Bubba's bed (top bunk) hasn't been made in over a year. I just wash the bedding and throw it up there. haha!

Are your comforters from Target? They look like the same ones my boys have, except theirs have different shades of blue and green in the stripes.

Yes, the jumping does sound like fun. I have always heard "If you sleep on the bottom bunk, you may get peed on by the person the top bunk so always choose the top bunk" Hmm, weird sentence to type : )

I remember the day we got bunkbeds as kids. They look so proud of the new sleeping arrangement!

So fun! We've toyed with the idea of putting the boys together in one room when we get Buster out of his crib and that would mean bunk beds. But I don't know if I'm ready for that!

I say just don't make the top bunk! ;-)

I bet it sounds even louder underneath the beds....did J get them? Matt has always wanted them for the girls and the reasons you listed above? Those were always my counter arguments!

Oh geez I have a lot of memories of bunk beds.

My brother who 6 at the time was jumping on the top one day and I guess he didn't notice the metal fan and bam. Blood everywhere but he took it in stride it was rather funny (now not then).

My other brother was 4 at the time jumped off and broke his left arm and then when that healed he then proceeded to do it again and break his right. haha

na... i don't think I will give my children bunkbeds.. I'm afraid they would jump down or something. I gave my twins sliding beds.

but... yes I see the excitements. congratulations kids!

Ah yes. Bunk beds. LOL We just put the girls beds back together after a year of having them in singles. The younger of the two got the top this time and I made a "privacy curtain" for sis on the bottom bunk. Now I'm looking for bunk beds for the boys! I want one with a slide from the top bunk...how fun would THAT be? Mama would go play, too.

Bunk beds are so much fun! Emily wanted one last year for Christmas! She called it a 'bumper' bed! Ha! I had one with my sister growing up. They will enjoy it to the fullest...sounds like they already have! So funny ;)

I want a picture of you joining them :). And yes I have so many fond memories of bunk beds, like flipping off and getting the wind knocked out of me; the night my brother rolled off the top bunk which sleeping and stayed asleep- oh wait that was funny.

I hate making the top bunk and stripping it to wash it. Grrrr. It takes forever.
