Flora, Fauna, Merryweather and a giveaway

In my recent post about my addiction to Facebook the hilarious Facebook material Melody supplies me, I mentioned fairies.

Specifically, Melody putting fairies in her pants.

Many of you wondered what type of fairies I was referring to.

So, I give you, the infamous fairies, Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather.

Yes, the Sleeping Beauty fairies.

No wonder they were so easy to get lost in one's pants.

See how small they are?

(No, that is not a giant sized matchbox car. It's just a regular sized one.)

Funnily enough, they actually came with this really cool Princess Aurora doll.

Melody doesn't play with her as much as the fairies though. Maybe it's because she thinks she's Princess Aurora.

PSF - the camera and the gun

Jack watched Bambi for the first time the other day.

I was concerned that he would be upset following the death of Bambi's mother so I had my husband explain to him about hunting.

He was not upset.

In fact, he was more excited about the hunters than anything else. He has also been talking about shooting deer ever since.

My mom said to him, "You know, you can shoot deer with your camera. That's called shooting too."

He replied, "Yeah! I'll shoot them with my camera then I'll shoot them with my gun."

Perhaps he'll start a new show on the ESPN Outdoors channel: Before and After.

3rd Folder, 1st picture with the color brown

This was a hard challenge because I really wasn't into brown that year! This was the only picture with any brown! Can you see where the brown is?

This was May of 2006. We were at Webb and Lindsey's wedding in Dothan, AL. I posted a few more pictures just beacuse we had such a fabulous weekend. My mom kept Jack for us...he was not quite two yet. Alex and I got to Dothan early Friday in time for the guys to play golf and Stephanie and I to catch some rays in Panama City before the reherseal dinner. Saturday we hit the beach again, this time with the guys and our friends Chip and Luann. Yes, I got a shrimp po'boy at some point. I don't go near the beach without getting at least one!

Saturday night was the wedding. It was definitely one of the top 3 contenders for "best wedding I've ever been too"...excluding mine, of course, which takes the cake hands down. The bride and groom were completely in love.

We saw lots of old friends and partied well into the night. Definitely one of those weekends that were so good we still talk about it!

Oh, and if you haven't figured it out yet...my sunglasses are the 'brown' in the photograph!

Ok, on to other stuff. I feel like I have been MIA. This week was super busy for me. It was Kindermart week. Kindermart is the fundraiser for Jack's preschool. This year I got roped into joining the committee. It was a blast, but took a lot of time. A lot. Along with my first year as a committe member, this is the first year I have shopped too. I have heard stories of great consignment sale buys but am not the best bargian shopper due my extreme lack of patience mild impatience. However, as a committee member, one of my perks was getting to shop early. So, since there were no other crazied and seasoned consignment shoppers people to deal with, I browsed around a bit.

This is my favorite purchase. A Cozy Coupe. I actually go two. One for our house and one for my parent's place. Do you know what these things retail for? Amazon.com has them listed for $49.99. I paid less than $20 for each. My kids were thrilled and have been playing with them non-stop.

My other favorite purchse was this hat for Melody. She's been wanting a baseball hat like her brothers. I found this one; it's Gymboree (which is pretty much my favorite store) and it still had the tags on it! Deal! It's hard to tell in the picture, but it's yellow gingham and has a little purple and green pineapple on the side. It also ties in the back instead of the regular baseball hat look. She looks adorable in it even though it makes her look like she has even less hair! And more importantly, it'll help keep the sun off her fair skin.
I did get another fun toy for Jack but that's for another post. It comes with a funny story and a video.

Here is a brief Charlie update. We have made more paci progress! Yes! Friday afternoon when I went to get him up from his nap he had a different paci in his mouth than the one I laid him down with. Yes, friends, he put the paci in by himself while in the crib.
I believe this was the turning point for him because last night he slept for 12.5 hours STRAIGHT. Which means that I got 8 whole hours of sleep at one time. I felt like a new woman. I felt like I was 29 again.

We'll see if this trend continues. I've bragged about it so much I've probably jinxed myself and he'll wake up 3 times tonight.

Lastly and most importantly the Twilight DVD was released today. Ahhh, I'm looking forward to my Edward fix tonight.Feel free to stare at him as long as necessary and go here if you need more.

Jack "the tool man" Powell

My son Jack is a tool fanatic. He loves tools and loves to built. He's also really good at it. He can see all kids of things when he looks at what I can only call 'stuff'. He got this cool erector/connectrix set for Christmas. I have not been able to find it anywhere online. This is the closest toy I could find as a comparison. Jack has a blast making all kind of things with these. They also spark imagination and encourage the development of fine motor skills. What could be a better toy?!

Here we have a dog house, complete with air conditioning and a phone.

A shower with a mirror and a place for the water to come out.

A lawn mower

A shooter.

Also among the toys he built but are not pictures are:

• Santa's Sleigh with a place for toys

• a bike with no seat and a steering wheel (this is my personal favorite)
• a merry go round
• a 2 person riding toy

Stella Baby

This is Baby Stella

Baby Stella was a birthday gift for Melody. As we all know, not all dolls are created equal and this one is definitely above par! Not only is she absolutely adorable, but she's just all around soft and sweet. I also think her hair is a lot like Melody's {grin}. She comes with all kind of fun things; a nightie, booties, two hairbows, baby food, bottle, bib, and a paci. Both kids have a lot of fun playing with Baby Stella. Although my favorite is when Melody "nurses" Stella; She will hold her flat on her back and up to her chin! It's too cute.

This is my sweet Jack who had turned three that summer. Jack was playing with these fabulous lacing beads. Jack received them as a 2006 Christmas gift from Aunt Marsha and we still love them now. They are great for building fine motor skills, teaching those little fingers how to manipulate them onto the string, and we also love to stack and sort them. They are just one of those great toys that we pull out over and over. In this particular picture, Jack was trying to look through the little hole...as you can see, he hadn't quite gotten the idea yet!

PSF - magic blocks

Santa brought Charlie some foam blocks for Christmas...he got them at Hobby Lobby for anyone who's interested. Charlie's not quite old enough to play with them yet, but my other two cannot get enough of them. Literally it's all they play with. Not only do they play with them but they play together and they play nicely. Truly they are magic blocks.

They mostly stack them...Jack enjoys building castles for his "friends" whom he has named after Disney Princesses. From left to right we have; Princesses Cinderella, Ariel, and Aurora. Sometimes he puts a little linky toy around Ariel to give her a fish tail. Yes, this princess obsession does drive my husband crazy.


Now, I haven't tried this, but apparently they make a great snack.
