here I am

If anyone is looking for me this weekend, this is where you'll find me.

I will be trying to keep my child from either throwing or eating sand, depending on which child resting peacefully on the sand.

With a gin and tonic in my hand.

It has been a long time since I've had a vacation. A long time. The last time I was at the beach, I was 8 months pregnant with Melody. We were only a family of 3 then, now we're a family of 5. I am a major beach person. I. am. so. excited.

psf - done

How did this happen?

Not quite three years ago, I dropped my baby off for his first day of preschool...

and this morning I dropped him off one last time.

The days seemed so long, but the years were so short!

Hey! My first award!

Bren over at Life in Maggie's World just bestowed upon me my first bloggy award! Thanks, Bren! Now it's my job to pass it along to other bloggy friends who I love to follow and are superstars in my book.

Kelli over at Random Thoughts of a Supermom is super cool. She has three adorable little guys and her littlest is just a few weeks older than Charlie. She has been going through a tough time lately as has remained a real SUPERmom through all of it!

Heidi over at Sacred and Profane just cracks me up. Constantly. I cannot wait to check her blog and see what her latest story is. She's got four little cutie-pies who always have something going on too.

Amy over at In the Tiger Den is mommy to adorable little TigerBoy. He's a real all-things-vehicle lover, a trait close to my heart as I'm watching him do many of the thing Jack did at that age.

Erin at It's All About Alex has this adorable, spunky little girl, (Alex, obviously!) who just reminds me so much of Melody. Alex is always up to something and is just so stinkin' cute!

Pam over at Twenty Little Piggies is a fellow Southern and truly has that sweetness and charm Southern ladies are known for. Her little girls, Caroline and Ellis, are so, so precious!

I haven't been blogging for that long and when I started I thought I would just be posting pictures of my kids for my husband and mom to look at. I have "met" some really great people here and I look forward to my blog updates everyday!

To accept this award you need to pass it along to your fellow bloggers who you think are superstars!

our new favorite game - Super Why

My kids have really been into the PBS Kids show Super Why lately. In fact, when they aren't begging to watch it, they are often playing it.

It's quite a sight to see, actually. They both don capes. Here is Jack in his very girlie, er, manly, flowered cape. Notice how he's making it flow behind him just like Super Why's cape. His mask is from a craft project made at preschool camp last summer. Thank goodness that wasn't one of his crafts that I threw out (not that I ever do that!)
Melody, of course, has to do the same. She refers to herself as Princess Why.
Perhaps they are trying to solve the problem of the messy family room?
Hip Hip Hurray! The Super Readers saved the day! Oh, wait, apparently they didn't as the family rom is still messy!

Preschool Graduation

My baby graduated preschool yesterday. *sniff* *sniff*I can't believe his time at our beloved preschool is so quickly coming to an end. I'm actually doing OK for now. But I'm pretty sure I'm going to loose it at some point next Thursday, which is his actual last day of school. Thank goodness we're going to the beach next weekend...I'll need the vacation to emotionally recover!
Jack was so excited about his graduation. He practiced singing the songs at home. The day of the event he even picked out Melody's clothes and told me how to do her hair! (Yes, I know he has control issues and yes, I know where he gets them from!)

The 4-year-old classes put on a wonderful program for the parents. They sang several songs they had learned over the years. This was my personal favorite; "Grrruummpp Went the Little Green Frog". Notice the hilarious expression on Jack's face as he's pretending to catch flies. (Sorry the video is a little shaky. Charlie kept grabbing at the camera!)

Here are all the Pre-K kids
Melody was thrilled to get to sit with Jack on the circle when we all went back to the classrooms. You can see her little red bows peeking out.

just a little tip

Just a little tip for y'all...

E.L.F. makeup has been bought by Nordstroms. They are in the process of changing all their packaging over to Nordstom packaging. As a result all their makeup is currently on sale for $1. Yep, that's right $1. Anyway, their stuff is awesome, so head over to their website and check it out.
Oh, and if you use the code SAVINGSELF you can get an extra $7.50 off your order as well.
