The other day during quiet time, Jack was teaching his "friends" (aka stuffed animals) all about the weather and getting ready for storytime. He had been planning this school time since lunch. I'm so glad he likes school and leave it to Jack to be the boss!

As many of you know, it is next to impossible challenging to get a shot of many small children together, looking sweet and in the general direction of a camera. Well, amazingly enough, Lauren and I accomplished just that! These pictures posted here are actual shots taken...no one has been photoshopped in. And, just in case you are wondering, yes I do have about 10 other shots where they are all looking in other directions, or licking their neighbor, or touching themselves in an inappropriate manner. Nonetheless, I do have these amazing shots that are definitely blog worthy!

what the heck is that?!?!

We gave Charlie rice cereal for the first time last weekend. Here he is in anticipation...Melody is in the background saying, "I wan wice-ce-ree-al tee-oo!" without knowing what rice cereal is, of course.
He seems to know something is going on...probably because I have the camera out.

The first bite was followed by a look of "what the heck was that?!"

The second bite was slightly more accepted but not wholly enjoyed.

Apparently, chewing on the spoon was the best part! A watchful eye was kept on the camera, though.

major mommy guilt

Ok, World's Worst Mommy Award go to me today. I feel so bad. Not only did I send my child to school without shoes, but I apparently sent her sick! I know, I know, Mom...don't say it! In my defense, she seemed to be feeling much better this morning. She was playful when she got up. She ate a huge bowl of oatmeal. And then, the clincher, when I told Jack it was time to get ready for school, she started jumping up and down saying, "I go school too! I go school too!". No fever, no coughing, so I sent her. They called around 10:45 and said that she just wanted to be rocked and snuggled and wanted her mommy. And so I went and picked up my poor shoeless child. Who, by the way, was thrilled that she got to take the little blanket they snuggled her with home with her. Yep, my mommy guilt is pretty much off the chart today!
However, sick or not, nothing stopped Melody from polishing off the Valentine lollipop her teacher, Ms Tabby, gave her! But, really, who doesn't want a lollipop when they are sick?

oops, i did it again!

These are Melody's shoes. You're probably wondering why I'm posting a picture of Melody's shoes without Melody in them. The answer is because she's at school. Yes, it's true. Melody is at school without her shoes! The sad thing is that this is not the first time I've sent a child to school shoe-less. Back in the beginning of the year, as Jack as getting out of the car, his teacher noticed he was without shoes! I was 9 months pregnant so at least I had an excuse for my absentmindedness, but there's really no good excuse this time!

rolly poly charlie

Charlie rolled over for the first time last Monday. Unfortunately, no one saw this milestone as it happened in the middle of the night. However, Charlie seems to find this new activity amusing and now will immediately roll over when placed on any surface.This means no more putting him on a bed and then walking away...oh, wait, no, I don't actually do that! When I put him down for his nap one afternoon, he immediately rolled over and looked up at me with a huge grin on his face! He's such a cutie-pie!
