the camera and the sprayground

If you have kept up with my blog for the past few weeks, you'll know that I have been looking for a new camera.

After much looking and much debating and much list-making, we have decided to get two cameras.

I really want a DSLR (yes, I know I'm no photographer, but I can learn!). Alex just likes the convenience of a small, compact point and shoot.

Like any smart, married couple; we compromised! We agreed that we would get a small, inexpensive point and shoot now and then a higher-end camera around Christmas. Now, Alex does not want to take a higher-end P&S out of the running, but I'm pretty much married to the idea of a DSLR. And let's be honest; I'm going to get one. Hubs knows how it works: a happy wife equals a happy life!

After a little looking we ended up getting a Nikon Coolpix for our compact P&S model. I was actually surprised at all the features it has and the quality of pictures.

I got the chance to really test it out when we went to the new spraygound in Roswell with our friends Amy, Kate, and Baby Brendyn. And let me just say; the sprayground is an awesome idea. Seriously, why did it take people so long to think of it and why do we only have two (that I know of) in the entire Atlanta Metro area?!

Charlie mostly hung out by this one little spout and just had a blast.

And grabbed a drink when he needed it.

Melody splashed

got rained on

and jumped to her hearts content.

What a great day with friends!

Charlie looks like he is not really sure if he loves the sprayground! I wish we had one of those!

That looks like such a fun time. I love the picture of Melody jumping. I saw the other spray park in ATL by the olympic park when I was there in May. It looks nice too.

Those should be required in every city and town! We would have a blast at a spraypark! Great pictures! Looks so fun! It's really cooled off here, but I think we'll get a few more warm days for swimming. So FUN! Have fun with your new camera!

Your pictures turned out great. I really want a DSLR too. We have a splash park like this and that is where Landon is going to have his birthday party at the end of the month.

Great pictures! We love our "sprinkle" park. It's not as big as that one though. FUN!

Great pictures! I too want a DSLR, but I have a good P&S and a DSLR/P&S hybrid so my husband is not on board.

Looks like so much fun! We have a couple Spraygrounds in our area but haven't made it to one yet. The weather here feels like fall so unless it warms up again soon, we may have to wait til next year. But it looks like a blast! Your P&S takes great pictures! I especially love the action shot of Melody jumping. Precious.

Congrats on the new camera...the pics look great! I knew there had to be a splashpad somewhere in Atlanta...and that one looks really cool. Way better than the one we have down here!

Great shots! My cousin has a cool pixs and loves it. I have a sony point and shot but I also have the Nikon D40 and I love them both. I have actually ventured into doing two weddings and two senior class photo shoots with my Nikon and I just got it a yr. ago. Keep pushing!

We've had a Nikon Coolpix for almost 5 years now and LOVE it. I plan to transfer ownership to my Hubby as soon as the DSLR I want is delivered by Santa :)

Those pics look really great. If my old p/s camera would have taken great shots like that I would have loved it! I like my Canon Rebel, but am sometimes afraid I'm gonna jack it up. Anyway...cute shots and adorable babies!!

Isn't the spray place awesome! I only found it the week before school started...

Charlie is too cute playing in that sprinkler! Melody is quite adorable, too.

That camera did take some great shots! You'll have to let me know what camera you pick- I'm in the market too.

I love my SLR, but I would also like a newer small camera. Sometimes you just need the best of both worlds!

Oh, that place looks fabulous! We have a few parks with water features but nothing this cool. Well, maybe that's because they only get used 3 months of the year...we live in the Pacific NW (aka "rain central")

Love that line..."happy wife equals a happy life". I'll be using that with the hubby for sure! ;)
